Individual Counseling

Emotional related stressors can cause a disruption in our daily lives leading to relational problems and low self-worth. The therapy process can help guide individuals back to the emotional wholeness they desire.

Couples and Marriage Counseling

If you are feeling lost or disconnected, experience trust issues, infidelity, or lack of communication in your relationship, counseling can aid in navigating your relationship back to connectedness, happiness, and intimacy. With life stressors it is easy to get lost in the chaos it creates; putting strains on our relationships. With teamwork and guidance, therapy can serve as a great to way to rebuild and regain whole and loving relationships.

Teen Therapy

Children are known for their resilience and ability to move through life, However they sometimes face emotional challenges and have a hard time expressing themselves in a healthy way. This time in a teens life can be especially hard due to so many life transitions including but limited to developmental changes self-identity/ exploration, new social challenges, and home life adjustments.

Therapy can help with providing children with a space to explore, talk, creatively express, and process through some of these difficult moments while also creating healthy ways of expression and coping with life.

While working with teens, I help them navigate the harder parts of being an adolescent, see their many strengths and uniqueness as a person, and develop more self-compassion and acceptance.

Child Play Therapy

What is Play Therapy?
APT defines play therapy as “the systematic use of a theoretical model to establish an interpersonal process wherein trained play therapists use the therapeutic powers of play to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development.”

“Play therapy is based upon the fact that play is the child’s natural medium of self-expression. It is an opportunity which is given to the child to ‘play out’ his feelings and problems just as, in certain types of adult therapy, an individual ‘talks out’ his difficulties” Axline,1969.

What type of child benefits from Play Therapy?
Play is a natural medium of expression for children. Play bridges the gap between concrete experience and abstract thought. When play is combined with a therapy prospective, Play Therapy, this can help the child organize and navigate through their personal experience, which can lead to positive outcomes. Children that benefit from this approach are children that struggle with trust or opening up to adults and/or other children, and appear withdrawn or introverted. Play Therapy can also be a successful medium for the more reactive, attention seeking and aggressive child. Play therapy helps with a number of emotional and behavior related issues and can help the child achieve success and grow in all areas of life.
